After leading ladies Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, and Emily Blunt enjoyed an onstage reunion at last year’s SAG Awards, fans couldn’t help but hope that a follow-up movie might be on the horizon. Now, it’s finally happening: after almost 20 years, Disney is giving us a sequel.

### What Will *The Devil Wears Prada* Sequel Be About?
According to *Variety*, the movie will follow Miranda Priestly (played by Meryl Streep), the iconic editor-in-chief, as she “navigates her career amid the decline of traditional magazine publishing and faces off against Blunt’s character, now a high-powered executive for a luxury group with advertising dollars that Priestly desperately needs.”
While it’s not yet clear where Anne Hathaway’s character, Andy Sachs, will fit into this story, rest assured—she’ll be there.

Details about her character remain under wraps.
Director David Frankel and writer Aline Brosh McKenna, who worked on the original film, are returning for the sequel alongside producer Karen Rosenfelt.
Nicholas Galitzine, who starred alongside Hathaway in *The Idea of You*, recently told *ELLE* he’d love to work with Streep and Blunt one day. Speaking about a potential sequel, he said, “Listen, if Annie’s down for it, if they want to do a sequel of *The Devil Wears Prada*, I’ll be someone. I’ll be the assistant who runs and gets coffee for everyone.” While no cameo announcements have been made, fans can always dream.

### Can I See Some Fashion Moments?
Definitely! On July 21, Anne Hathaway shared a glimpse of her character sporting a Gabriela Hearst Spring-Summer 2025 colorful patchwork maxi dress while filming in New York City.
In another Instagram post, Hathaway showcased Andy’s vintage Jean Paul Gaultier pinstripe suit vest paired with matching trousers. She was also seen wearing a Toteme tank top, AGOLDE denim maxi skirt, and Chanel Velcro sandals.
Just days later, on July 23, paparazzi caught the first look of Meryl Streep back in character as Miranda Priestly. She looked as chic as ever in Gabriela Hearst paired with a purple blouse, strutting through the streets of New York.

### What Are the Creators Saying About All the Excitement?
In an August 4 interview with *IndieWire*, writer Aline Brosh McKenna addressed the buzz surrounding the paparazzi shots and eager fans:
“People will stand outside just for a glimpse of these actors and these characters that they love because seeing them in wardrobe has really excited people, especially since it’s a fashion movie,” she said. “We knew there would be a lot of interest. I personally hadn’t experienced this level of people coming out [to the set], but it’s the world we live in. In many ways, we’re speaking to a different world than we did in 2006. It stems from a legitimate desire to see these characters again. As long as everyone’s safe, what an honor that people are still interested.”
She continued, “I got a little squeal when I saw them in costume the first time. I was like, ‘Oh my God!’ It was like my son’s bar mitzvah or something. I felt like I wanted to take pictures!”
