Singer claims transgender woman — who beat ex-wife to a pulp — preyed on her for days in women’s locker room: ‘Like a bedroom bully’
**Musician Tish Hyman Confronts Transgender Woman in Beverly Hills Gym Locker Room Incident**
Grammy-nominated musician Tish Hyman has spoken out after a tense confrontation with a transgender woman at a Beverly Hills Gold’s Gym left gym-goers feeling “humiliated.” Hyman, an out lesbian, shared a video on social media capturing the heated exchange with transgender woman Alexis Black, sparking widespread attention.
Hyman expressed her frustration bluntly, stating, “Not with that big d-k, you ain’t,” referring to Black. The incident unfolded at the Beverly Hills Gold’s Gym, recently acquired by the rapidly expanding EōS Fitness.
**Background on Alexis Black**
Alexis Black, 31, who previously went by the name Kyle Grant Freeman, was sentenced to one year in an Ohio prison in 2022 after pleading guilty to brutally assaulting his then-wife, causing a broken jaw that required hospital surgery. Black also has a criminal record including domestic violence charges, drug trafficking convictions, and resisting arrest, all in Ohio.
Disturbingly, after beginning a gender transition earlier this year, Black chose to use the first name of his ex-wife and victim, Alexis.
**Tish Hyman’s Experience at the Gym**
Hyman, 42, started working out at Gold’s Gym two years ago as part of her weight loss journey—she was then 100 pounds overweight. She enjoyed the gym community and felt comfortable among the women there.
Her troubles began when she asked Black to leave the women’s locker room, having felt menaced while undressing. “I’m traumatized now, I’ve been disrespected, I’m naked in front of men, I haven’t been naked in front of men in 30 years,” Hyman told The Post. “I’m a lesbian.”
According to Hyman, Black responded by calling her a “bitch.” She described feeling shocked and confused by the encounter.
To avoid further confrontations, Hyman switched to the Beverly Center Gold’s Gym location. However, the very next day, while in the sauna with another woman, Black allegedly barged in aggressively, demanding, “You’re talking about me, bitch.”
The situation escalated as they vocally clashed until gym staff intervened. Both women filed official reports.
During one encounter, Black reportedly told Hyman, “Straight women like to see d-k in the locker room. So, if anything, they’re looking at me more than they’re looking at you.” Hyman was appalled at such a statement.
**Gym Management Response and Legal Context**
Hyman said the gym staff did not take sufficient action, stating that they were legally required to allow Black access to the women’s locker room.
Under California law, businesses cannot deny anyone “full and equal accommodations, advantages, facilities, privileges, or services” due to sex, gender, gender identity, or gender expression.
Determined to warn other women, Hyman spoke with gym members about the ongoing issues. Following a further confrontation that necessitated staff intervention, she posted a video on Instagram on October 26 showing Black inside the women’s locker room.
“It’s the worst to be naked in front of a man calling you a bitch,” Hyman said, her voice cracking.
Fearing physical harm, she became anxious about visiting the gym where she once trained daily.
**Escalation and Aftermath**
The final incident occurred when Black allegedly called Hyman a “bitch” again in the women’s locker room, prompting Hyman to flee while screaming.
Following this confrontation, Hyman posted her viral video demanding, “Stay out of the women’s locker room, we don’t want it.”
According to Hyman, gym staff called the police, resulting in both her and Black being removed from the facility and having their memberships revoked.
A representative for Hyman noted that the gym later contacted her to say her membership was “under review,” though she has yet to receive any formal notice.
EōS Fitness, which operates 150 locations and plans to open or acquire 100 more, did not respond to repeated requests for comment.
**Statements from Both Parties**
Onlookers recorded footage of Hyman speaking passionately with gym staff before being escorted out. She expressed frustration at being perceived as the troublemaker.
Black denied any wrongdoing in a statement to TMZ, claiming to have been fully clothed at all times. Black also asserted receiving support from women in the locker room due to Hyman’s purported aggression.
Black expressed feeling victimized by the prospect of being assigned to male or trans-only locker rooms, stating, “You’re not going to put a trans woman with a trans man just because we’re trans.”
Since Hyman’s video went viral, Black has not responded to further requests for comment.
**Moving Forward**
Hyman has since moved her workouts to Strong House Fitness, Hollywood’s first Black-owned private sports gym. She shared on Instagram, “Don’t gotta worry about the bathrooms here!”
She emphasized she is not transphobic and wants safety for everyone, including transgender individuals, stating, “I plan on helping them get their own locker rooms and everything. At the end of the day, I just want everyone to be safe.”
