Days after Zubeen’s death, Shekhar Jyoti Goswami, a band member, came forward with serious allegations. He accused Siddharth Sharma and Shyamkanu Mahanta of poisoning Zubeen Garg. Shekhar revealed that he noticed Siddharth acting suspiciously during their time in Singapore and alleged that the manager forcibly took control of the yacht, putting the passengers’ safety at risk.
Shekhar told News18 that when Zubeen was reportedly frothing at the mouth and nose, Siddharth was overheard shouting, “Jabo de, jabo de” (let him go), an apparent indication of dismissiveness towards the singer’s critical condition.
**Negligence Allegations and Critical Signs Dismissed**
The bandmate accused Siddharth of ignoring critical signs of Zubeen’s distress, such as frothing at the mouth, which was mistaken for mere acid reflux rather than being treated as a medical emergency. Witnesses believe this negligence significantly hastened Zubeen’s death.
Further allegations surfaced regarding Siddharth’s behaviour during the private yacht party. Shekhar claimed that Siddharth instructed Tanmoy Phukan, the event organiser, not to arrange drinks, stating that he would manage the supplies himself. Moreover, Siddharth reportedly failed to provide a credible explanation for the presence of liquor and women arranged for Zubeen prior to his falling ill.

Shekhar expressed his conviction that Zubeen Garg’s death was not an accident. As an expert swimmer, Zubeen could not have drowned naturally, he argued. Additionally, Shekhar disclosed that Siddharth had warned him against sharing any video footage of the yacht incident.
