### Find Zdenyek at the Monastery

To begin, you need to speak with **Zdenyek**, who can be found at the north end of the monastery grounds. When you talk to him about **Blazhena**, he will reveal that he suspected her of stealing food. According to Zdenyek, only he and Blazhena had keys to the pantry where the stolen food was kept, and he was actually planning to get rid of her before she fell ill. He will ask you to promise not to tell anyone about his suspicions.

### Talk to Valerie and Check Blazhena’s Room

Next, you’ll need to talk to **Valerie**, the blonde maid nearby. However, if you approach Valerie first, she will tell you she doesn’t want to talk in front of Zdenyek. Instead, head over to check Blazhena’s room, which she shares with Valerie.

To find Blazhena’s room, go to the small building at the top of the courtyard. Enter the door on the back right, then go up the stairs. Blazhena’s bed is closest to the window. Check the chest at the foot of her bed—you’ll find a large sum of money there, far too much for a maid.

### Confront Zdenyek

Find Zdenyek and confront him about his actions. He will ask you to go with him to a nearby field for a private talk. Here, you can either choose to go with him or refuse.

It’s recommended to go with him if you want to obtain a weapon.

In the field, Zdenyek will attempt to attack you. Defend yourself and beat him down. Once he surrenders, demand his axe. He will also hand over the key to the locked cellar door, which he had taken from Blazhena’s chest.

With the key in hand, head back to the cellar you first searched. You can now unlock the previously inaccessible door and continue your investigation.
