“We were almost going to sign the contract”- Top AEW star makes shocking WWE revelation
Recently, a top AEW star made a major revelation about his past with WWE. He revealed that he was about to sign a contract with the Stamford-based promotion a few years ago alongside his brother before they made it to AEW. Former AEW World Tag Team Champion Matt Jackson revealed that The Young Bucks were close to signing with WWE back in 2019. There have been plenty of rumors in professional wrestling over the past decade that suggested that Matt & Nick Jackson were in talks to sign with the sports entertainment juggernaut. However, in 2019, the tag team signed a multi-year deal with All Elite Wrestling and have been with the promotion since then. Speaking on Adam’s Apple, The Young Bucks discussed their previous talks with WWE. Matt Jackson said that they were in contract negotiations with WWE, but things did not work out. The duo then added that they have been in such talks with the Stamford-based promotion many times in their career. Matt also said that in 2019, they were doing a pretty good job in Japan, which sparked WWE’s interest in signing the duo. “Pretty close. Like, yeah, we were almost going to sign the contract. I mean, there was never an actual physical contract, but we were negotiating. We had a groundswell at the time, with stuff we were doing in Japan and on the indies.” said Matt [H/T: Ringside News] Check out the full interview below: The Young Bucks will compete in a big match at AEW Full Gear This weekend, All Elite Wrestling will present its Full Gear event from the Prudential Centre in Newark, New Jersey. The show will feature some blockbuster showdowns, including an epic tag team match between The Young Bucks and their former allies. Matt & Nick Jackson will team up with Josh Alexander to take on the former Elite member Kenny Omega and The Jurassic Express. There has been a constant buzz among the fans for this showdown at Full Gear this Saturday. This week on Dyanmite, Bucks tried to take down Omega with an assault ahead of their match. However, The Jurassic Express came to the rescue of the former AEW World Champion, preventing a massive mishap. With that said, it will be interesting to see how things will turn out when these teams will square off in the ring.
