WATCH: Utah governor to deliver State of State address

Utah Governor Spencer Cox is set to deliver his annual State of the State speech on Thursday, marking the start of the 2026 legislative session.

In his address, Governor Cox is expected to highlight key priorities, including funding for a central homeless campus, deregulation efforts to accelerate home construction, and policies aimed at improving literacy rates among elementary students.

The speech will be livestreamed and is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. MST.

According to the latest Deseret News-Hinckley Institute of Politics Poll conducted earlier this month, Cox maintains a positive approval rating among Utah voters. The poll shows that 51% of respondents approve of Cox’s performance in office, while 37% disapprove.

Interestingly, the poll also found that an identical share of Utah voters—51%—approve of President Donald Trump.
