**US Revokes Visas of Indian Executives Over Fentanyl Smuggling Link**

The United States Embassy in New Delhi has revoked and denied visas to certain Indian business executives and their families due to alleged involvement in trafficking fentanyl precursors, a dangerous synthetic narcotic.
“Stopping the flow of fentanyl, including its precursors, to the United States is one of our top priorities. We are grateful to our counterparts in the Government of India for their close cooperation to combat this shared challenge,” the embassy stated.
**Increased Visa Scrutiny for Executives**
The US Embassy also announced that executives of companies accused of trafficking fentanyl precursors will face heightened visa scrutiny moving forward. Charge d’affaires Jorgan Andrews remarked, “Individuals and organizations involved in the illegal production and trafficking of drugs to the United States, along with their families, will face consequences that may include being denied access to the United States.”
**Trump’s Warning to Drug-Trafficking Nations**
This visa revocation follows hours after former President Donald Trump issued a warning targeting countries involved in rampant drug trafficking, with India named among 23 nations on what he called the “Major’s List.” In a “Presidential Determination” submitted to Congress, Trump identified these countries as either primary sources or key transit points for illicit drugs entering the US.
Trump cautioned that these nations, by producing or facilitating the distribution of illegal narcotics and precursor chemicals, pose a significant threat to the safety of the United States and its citizens. He specifically singled out China as the “world’s largest source” of precursor chemicals used in fentanyl production. Trump criticized Beijing’s reluctance to restrict the export of such compounds, claiming it has fueled increased fentanyl trafficking through Mexico and into the US.

The US Government’s recent actions underscore its commitment to combating the global fentanyl crisis and highlight the importance of international cooperation, particularly with countries like India, to stem the flow of dangerous narcotics.
