UAAP: UP no answer vs UST’s Collins Akowe, says coach Goldwin
MANILA, Philippines – Coach Goldwin Monteverde admitted that University of the Philippines simply had no answer for University of Santo Tomas’ debuting foreign student-athlete Collins Akowe in Sunday’s game.
The Growling Tigers opened their UAAP title defense with a commanding 87-67 victory. Akowe asserted himself right from the beginning, finishing with an impressive 29 points and 17 rebounds as UST dominated the match.
