Two Point Museum brings portability to exhibit curation on the Switch 2
Last week, right before the end of October, Two Point Studios and Sega brought the delightfully charming museum curation game, Two Point Museum, to Nintendo Switch 2. This marks one of the latest additions in a string of strategy and management sim-style games that have come to the platform.
While Two Point Museum misses out on mouse controls for the Switch 2 at launch—and can get a little stressed with a lot of guests running around your exhibits—it still plays mostly well. The overall experience is enjoyable and makes it worth your time, especially if the idea of taking a Two Point Studios game on the go appeals to you.
## Pick-Up-and-Curate Gameplay
If you missed my Two Point Museum review on PC earlier this year, be sure to check it out because many of my thoughts remain unchanged here. Two Point Museum stands as the best and most polished of the Two Point games, representing a delightful evolution of the studio’s game design.
This charming museum management sim allows you to take over the curation of several themed museums, filling them with exhibits to attract guests, earn money, and expand your facilities into top-tier museums.
On Switch 2, everything from the base game released in March 2025 is included in this package. You’ll get the five derelict museum themes of the main campaign, sandbox mode for crafting your own grand museum, and a massive amount of exhibits and expeditions to discover.
Throughout each museum, you’ll send your staff on journeys to collect artifacts and learn the unique rules each theme has for displaying your discoveries in ways that attract money-spending guests. By the end, you’ll have access to special rooms, purposeful machinery and facilities, and a variety of props to create the archaeological gallery of your dreams.
The only thing missing is the DLC, including the Explorer Upgrade Pack and recent content from free updates like the Vampire Survivors collaboration. Hopefully, these will make their way to Switch 2 soon.
## Performance and Controls
One thing to note: Two Point Museum on Switch 2 doesn’t currently utilize the platform’s mouse controls. This is surprising for a game that relies heavily on cursor and clicking, but it is what it is.
Playing with a gamepad isn’t terrible—it handles well and looks good doing it. The only noticeable hitch occurs in end-game play: when hundreds of people are moving through your museum, the Switch 2 can struggle a bit, resulting in lower frame rates. While not game-breaking, it’s noticeable in the very late stages.
Otherwise, performance is solid. The charming art, miniature people, and the silly radio program that keeps you abreast of all goings-on are all intact and make the game fun to play in both Docked and Handheld Mode.
## Mobile Museum Management
Two Point Museum on the Switch 2 is another fantastic offering for strategy and sim-minded players, but it also leaves me hoping that Two Point Studios and Sega will support it with post-launch updates.
Mouse control support would be a welcomed addition, as gamepad play is serviceable, but the game truly shines with point-and-click mechanics. I’d also love to see the free updates and DLC arrive on Switch 2. With the animal-themed Zooseum expansion on the way, it would be a shame for Switch 2 players to miss out.
Despite these few drawbacks, Two Point Museum on Switch 2 remains a neat and portable way to enjoy a solid game.
*These impressions are based on a Nintendo Switch 2 digital copy of the game. Two Point Museum is out now on Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.*
