TORONTO — I am enough of an egomaniac that I want you to read every word of this column. But if even low-key praise for how the Yankees have performed in the toughest division during Aaron Boone’s tenure is going to set you off on a social media screed or worse, now might be a good time to return to knitting, collecting stamps, or whatever calms you in such moments.
In Boone’s eight seasons, the AL East has been MLB’s most competitive division from top to bottom—and it hasn’t really been close. Throughout this challenging environment, the Yankees have been the lone constant of strong performance. Consider:
