Thailand to clarify ‘misunderstandings’ over SEA Games petanque ban
Thailand said Tuesday it would “clarify misunderstandings” after the world governing body of petanque effectively barred the nation from hosting the sport at this year’s Southeast Asian (SEA) Games.
The World Petanque and Bowls Federation (WPBF) announced that it would not endorse the petanque competition scheduled to take place during the SEA Games, which are set for December 9-20 in Thailand.
The decision comes amid allegations that have yet to be fully detailed by the WPBF, prompting the federation’s move to withhold its approval for the event.
