Telecom Disruption Plot Near UNGA Meeting Area Thwarted by Secret Service in NYC
The United States Secret Service has successfully thwarted a telecom disruption plot near the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) meeting area in New York City. Authorities are currently working to identify those responsible for the network of electronic devices involved in the attempted disruption.
During the 80th United Nations General Assembly on September 23, 2025, a US Secret Service agent was seen exiting a roadblock manned by NYPD officers near the United Nations headquarters. This heightened security measure was part of the efforts to safeguard the event and prevent any potential threats.
