‘Ba***ds of Bollywood is not a documentary on the Cordelia cruise incident’: Shah Rukh Khan-owned Red Chillies counters Sameer Wankhede’s defamation claim
A legal battle is underway between IRS officer Sameer Wankhede and Shah Rukh Khan’s production house Red Chillies Entertainment over the Netflix web series The Ba***ds of Bollywood, directed by Aryan Khan. Wankhede has filed a Rs 2 crores defamation suit at the Delhi High Court, claiming that the show’s portrayal of a government officer is a veiled depiction of him and has damaged his reputation, particularly in relation to the 2021 Cordelia Empress cruise drug case involving Aryan Khan. In response, Red Chillies Entertainment opposed Wankhede’s plea for an interim injunction to stop streaming the series. Senior advocate Neeraj Kishan Kaul, representing Red Chillies, argued that while the show draws inspiration from overzealous officers, it does not specifically depict or reference the Cordelia cruise incident. Kaul stressed, “Can satire and fiction co-exist? There is no law that it cannot co-exist. I may be partly inspired by real persons and stories yet there can be disclaimers, no problem with two existing together. Where is the ill-will or malice? This is about a success story in a Bollywood party.”He further argued, “We are not looking at people who are sensitive, hurt is not ground for malice. Can you pick a stray instance, a passage here or there? The series is about 20 different issues. We do not show a documentary on the Cordelia cruise incident. I am inspired by overzealous officers. That is far from saying that this is the Cordelia cruise story.”Kaul further claimed that Wankhede is fond of giving interviews to the media and said, “You cannot say that the person depicting ills in Bollywood cannot show overzealous officers. I cannot be responsible for what other people say. I am fully entitled to depict issues ailing Bollywood. Even if I am to project someone, a public official cannot be that thin-skinned,” on behalf of Red Chillies. Concluding his argument, Kaul said, “Even if I portray you unjustly it is still not the case. Every scene in this show is exaggerated. I am not ridiculing him or the emblem. I am talking about officials who have lofty ideas.”The next hearing is scheduled on November 27, 2025, where the court will hear arguments on behalf of Netflix. Trump Official Insists Giuliani Pardon ‘Can Apply To State Charges’
Ed Martin, the chief pardon attorney in the Department of Justice, said that President Donald Trump’s federal pardons could get Rudy Giuliani and others off the hook for state and local crimes related to the 2020 presidential election. During a Monday interview on Steve Bannon’s War Room program, Martin spoke to Trump’s decision to grant what were thought to be largely symbolic pardons to Giuliani and 76 other people in connection with alleged ballot fraud crimes. Many of those receiving federal pardons were facing state crimes in Georgia, Nevada, Arizona, and Wisconsin for schemes to overturn the 2020 presidential election by using slates of fake electors. “How does this go, because these are state charges, and you’ve got some pretty radical AGs, particularly in Arizona and some of these other states?” Bannon asked Martin. “Couple things. One, there’s a broad argument that the that the pardon can apply to state charges,” Martin replied. “I leave to others for fighting it out, but there is in the history of the country, of course, you go back in time, at the very beginning, the charges a pardon operated against any crime against the United States, at the period early on, you’re pardoning local charges too.” Martin admitted that courts were unlikely to drop state and local charges based on a federal pardon. read more.

SCOOP: Dhurandhar makers eye May 29, 2026 for the release of the second part
On Monday, November 17, Bollywood Hungama was the first one to break the viral news that Dhurandhar is a two-part saga. As expected, the news travelled far and wide. 2 days later and a day after the grand trailer launch, Bollywood Hungama brings to you one more update about this film. A source told us, “Dhurandhar’s first part will arrive in cinemas on December 5, as is common knowledge. The makers want to release the second part in the first half of 2026, particularly in the summers. Accordingly, they have set their eyes on the May 29 slot. It is empty and hasn’t been grabbed yet. This will give them an advantage of a solo release, just like the first part, which is arriving sans any competition.”The source continued, “However, the makers have not yet locked the May 29 date. They are looking at other vacant dates as well in May and also are considering if Dhurandhar Part 2 can arrive in cinemas in June. They plan to take a call on it soon.”Meanwhile, there was no mention of Dhurandhar being a two-part saga at the grand trailer launch, held yesterday, on November 18, at Mumbai’s iconic Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre. An industry insider commented, “The makers probably plan to lock the date before the release of the first part. Dhurandhar Part 1 is expected to end with the announcement of the second installment along with its release date.”On Monday, Bollywood Hungama carried a quote by a source that said, “Dhurandhar’s first part will end at a decisive point and the story will then continue in the second part. Director Aditya Dhar has shot extensively and the film has shaped up really well. But since it’s very lengthy, he and the makers, Jio Studios and B62 Studios, have toyed with the idea of breaking it into 2 parts. If this is the plan, then Dhurandhar’s part 2 will arrive next year, preferably in the first half.”Dhurandhar stars Ranveer Singh in the lead and also features Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan and Sara Arjun.
