EXCLUSIVE: CBFC changes Rose-mary Marlow to Rose-mary Carlow in Mastiii 4; asks for THIS modification in the Aftab Shivdasani-old man sex joke
The sex comedy Mastiii 4 hit cinemas today and has already grabbed eyeballs thanks to its popular franchise and naughty trailer. Even before its release, there was apprehension that the Central Board of Film Certification would insist on multiple cuts. Bollywood Hungama had exclusively revealed two days ago that the board had asked for six dialogues to be altered. We can now share the detailed breakdown of some of these changes. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “One of the lines from the trailer that drew both laughs and criticism was the exchange between Aftab Shivdasani and an elderly patient. The old man tells Aftab, ‘Mujhe jawan ladki ke saath sex karna hai’. When a worried Aftab warns, ‘Lekin aisa karne se maut ho jaayegi’, the patient quips, ‘Marti hai toh mar jaaye saali’. In the theatrical version, this entire bit has been toned down. In the film, the patient now says, ‘Mujhe jawan ladki ke saath masti karni hai’. Aftab still cautions, ‘Lekin aisa karne se maut ho jaayegi’, to which the patient replies, ‘Main marne ke liye tayyar hoon’.”The source continued, “That is not all. The three women with whom the trio have an affair in Grand Masti (2013) are named Rose, Mary and Marlow. Read together, their names form a cheeky double meaning in Hindi. In Mastiii 4, a glamorous character is introduced as Rose-mary Marlow. Her name has now been changed to Rose-mary Carlow. It is surprising that the censors had no issue with the gag in the second film, released 12 years ago, but have objected to it this time.”Directed by Milap Zaveri, Mastiii 4 stars Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi and Aftab Shivdasani, who have always featured in the previous parts of the franchise as well Masti (2004), Grand Masti and Great Grand Masti (2016). This time, they are joined by Ruhii Singh, Shreya Sharma, Elnaaz Norouzi, Natalia Janoszek, Shaad Randhawa and Nishant Singh Malkani, along with Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor and Nargis Fakhri. EXCLUSIVE: CBFC passes 120 Bahadur with ZERO cuts; makers of Farhan Akhtar-starrer go for strategic, limited release
The Farhan Akhtar-starrer 120 Bahadur is all set to be released this Friday, November 21, and it has impressed the audience with its subject and authenticity, as evident from the trailer. In a unique move, the paid previews of the film were held across the country on Tuesday, November 18. The norm is to organize previews on Thursday, a day before release. And now, Bollywood Hungama makers have learned that the distributors, AA Films, have decided on an interesting strategy for the war drama. A trade source told Bollywood Hungama, “The makers, Excel Entertainment, and the distributors, AA Films, have decided to provide a limited release to the film. The idea is to release the film in cinemas which is highly frequented by its target audience, that is, the elite and the ones who are interested in such high-quality films. In mass-dominated single-screens and multiplexes and in B and C centres, the distributors will either skip the release or ask them to go for limited showcasing.”The trade source continued, “They have decided to release the film in around 900-1000 screens. The strategy will work well with the film and if there’s demand, the shows can be increased over the weekend or on the weekdays.”The trade source informed, “Mastiii 4 also releases this Friday and it’s meant for the masses. Hence, there will be no clash over show-sharing for these two films as they are targeting different sets of audiences. The makers of the sex comedy plan to go wide in mass centres and in the hinterland.”No cuts for 120 BahadurMeanwhile, 120 Bahadur has been passed with no cuts by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). There was concern among moviegoers after the trailer of the film, which was played in cinemas, replaced the dialogue ‘Ahir hai hum’ with ‘Fauji hai hum’. This led to many netizens assuming that the said cut would also be enforced in the film. As a result, CBFC was trolled for it. But the final version of the film doesn’t have the aforementioned modification. Moreover, despite being a war film, the Examining Committee of the CBFC did not ask for any visual cuts as well, as the action scenes are not too gory or disturbing. Accordingly, the film was given a U/A 13+ certificate on November 6. The length of 120 Bahadur, as mentioned on the censor certificate, is 137 minutes. Yesterday, Bollywood Hungama was the first one to predict that Rizwan Sajan, the founder and chairman of Danube Group, will launch a tower named after Shah Rukh Khan at an event held in Mumbai on November 14. Our news break came to be true. SRK himself graced the occasion for the launch of the skyscraper, called Shahrukhz By Danube, and as expected, raised laughs and touched hearts with his quotes. Rizwan Sajan spoke highly of Shah Rukh and how he had a long chat with his wife on Zoom when he told her that she was ill. But the event went on another level when King Khan made an entry. Shah Rukh Khan warmly greeted Rizwan Sajan and gave a peck on the cheek to the host, Farah Khan. Farah joked, “I know you are all very jealous. Once more, please!” SRK smiled and kissed her cheeks again! Shah Rukh then said, “Main Eid ka chand jaisa ho gaya hoon. Bahar kam aata hoon. Lekin jab aata hoon, tab kamaal aata hoon!” As expected, there was applause and hoots. He revealed, “I asked Rizwan bhai if the event would be held in Dubai. He told me, ‘Nahin. Mera desh mere bahut kareeb hai. Hence, I want to launch it in Mumbai’. He meant it.”Rizwan’s son, Adel Sajan, Managing Director, Danube Group, then took over and explained the salient features of Shahrukhz By Danube. He revealed that it’s a 55-storey office tower. He added, “Not only do we have a helipad, but also an air taxi station. In 2026, Dubai will be introducing Air Taxi station and you could be entering in style in Shah Rukh’s tower!”Interestingly, the entrance of Shahrukhz By Danube will have a statue of Shah Rukh in his signature pose. Adel explained, “The idea is not just to have an office tower but my father’s vision was that he wanted it to be like a tourist destination. When my mother comes to Mumbai, the first thing she has to do is to go outside Mannat and take a picture. Likewise, millions of Indians go to Dubai. When we created Shahrukhz By Danube in the heart of Sheikh Zayed Road, we are anticipating that people are going to queue outside and take a picture with the King himself!”After the presentation, Shah Rukh Khan was asked for his reaction. The superstar was too overwhelmed and he said, “What can I say? Meri maa zinda hoti toh bahut khush hoti! It’s a very big honour. When I take my kids to Dubai, I’ll tell them, ‘Yeh dekh. Papa ki building hai’ although the building is owned by Rizwan bhai! Lekin naam toh mera likha hoga (smiles). CONFIRMED: S S Rajamouli-Mahesh Babu-Priyanka Chopra’s film titled Varanasi
S S Rajamouli recently released Baahubali: The Epic, which was a combined version of Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017). November is here and all his focus is on his upcoming ambitious film, starring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran. There are reports that the name of the film, which is referred to as SSMB29, is Globetrotter. A few reports reveal that the film has been titled Varanasi.Bollywood Hungama has learned that the team of the film has locked a title. A source told us, “The name of the film is indeed Varanasi. It is said that the title rights were with somebody, but S S Rajamouli’s team reached out and secured the rights.”The source further said, “It is an apt title as per the story of the film. Hence, they were very keen on naming their film Varanasi.”Reports also state that a grand announcement event will be held on November 15 in Ramoji Rao Film City, Hyderabad. Along with S S Rajamouli, Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran, the others from the team of the film are expected to be present, including Oscar-winning music director M M Keeravani. It is reported that fans will get a chance to attend the launch event and that the event will be live streamed on JioHotstar.Varanasi is S S Rajamouli’s immediate next after the global blockbuster RRR (2022). The Ram Charan-Jr NTR starrer became a phenomenon across the world, thanks to its massy storytelling, performances and especially the songs. The song ‘Naatu Naatu’ went on to win the Best Music (Original Song) award at the 95th Academy Awards. SCOOP: Dhurandhar makers eye May 29, 2026 for the release of the second part
On Monday, November 17, Bollywood Hungama was the first one to break the viral news that Dhurandhar is a two-part saga. As expected, the news travelled far and wide. 2 days later and a day after the grand trailer launch, Bollywood Hungama brings to you one more update about this film. A source told us, “Dhurandhar’s first part will arrive in cinemas on December 5, as is common knowledge. The makers want to release the second part in the first half of 2026, particularly in the summers. Accordingly, they have set their eyes on the May 29 slot. It is empty and hasn’t been grabbed yet. This will give them an advantage of a solo release, just like the first part, which is arriving sans any competition.”The source continued, “However, the makers have not yet locked the May 29 date. They are looking at other vacant dates as well in May and also are considering if Dhurandhar Part 2 can arrive in cinemas in June. They plan to take a call on it soon.”Meanwhile, there was no mention of Dhurandhar being a two-part saga at the grand trailer launch, held yesterday, on November 18, at Mumbai’s iconic Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre. An industry insider commented, “The makers probably plan to lock the date before the release of the first part. Dhurandhar Part 1 is expected to end with the announcement of the second installment along with its release date.”On Monday, Bollywood Hungama carried a quote by a source that said, “Dhurandhar’s first part will end at a decisive point and the story will then continue in the second part. Director Aditya Dhar has shot extensively and the film has shaped up really well. But since it’s very lengthy, he and the makers, Jio Studios and B62 Studios, have toyed with the idea of breaking it into 2 parts. If this is the plan, then Dhurandhar’s part 2 will arrive next year, preferably in the first half.”Dhurandhar stars Ranveer Singh in the lead and also features Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan and Sara Arjun.
