Packers head coach Matt LaFleur had a plan in place to take advantage of the Vikings’ no-gas offense in case McCarthy was unable to decipher the Green Bay defense. He knew that his offense did not have to do much and the only thing he wanted quarterback Jordan Love to do was keep handing the ball to running backs Emanuel Wilson (107 rushing yards) and Christopher Brooks in order to keep the clock moving. Certainly, Love was able to make some quick pitch and catch completions to keep drives alive, but the Packers did not have to attack downfield with medium- and long-range passes that would have put the ball at risk. McCarthy is simply not up to solid NFL competition at this point. The Vikings tried to attack with their running game.
