Seth Rollins’ absence on RAW fuels questions; wrestling veteran exposes WWE’s major storyline flaw (Exclusive)
Former WWE head writer Vince Russo recently addressed the absence of Seth Rollins from this week’s episode of RAW. The star has been sidelined due to an injury, prompting significant storyline developments on the show.
RAW General Manager Adam Pearce opened the episode but was quickly interrupted by The Vision and Paul Heyman. Pearce announced that he was stripping Rollins of the World Heavyweight Championship. He explained that Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed’s attack on Rollins last week aggravated the champion’s injury, necessitating surgery. Pearce then took the title from Breakker and exited the stage.
During a recent episode of *Legion of RAW*, Russo highlighted an inconsistency within the ongoing storyline. He noted that The Vision claimed Seth Rollins was sidelined due to the spear from Breakker followed by Reed’s tsunami move. However, Paul Heyman also referenced Rollins’ shoulder injury, which originally occurred during the Crown Jewel event in his match against Cody Rhodes.
Russo expressed confusion over the mixed messaging, questioning what exactly caused Rollins’ absence. He said:
> “They did two very weird things tonight. First, Heyman said, Seth Rollins is not here tonight because of what this man did and what that man did, talking about the Tsunami and the Spear. Then he later went on in the same promo to talk about his bum shoulder. So, it’s like what is it, bro? Did they put him out? Guys, you gotta get your stories straight, man.”
Adam Pearce also revealed that a new World Heavyweight Champion would be crowned at the upcoming *Saturday Night’s Main Event*. To determine CM Punk’s opponent for the title match, Pearce booked a Battle Royal during this week’s RAW. Jey Uso emerged victorious in the Battle Royal and will face Punk at the *Premium Live Event* (PLE) to crown the new champion.
