**SC Rejects Jacqueline Fernandez’s Plea to Quash ₹200 Crore Money Laundering Case**

The Supreme Court of India has declined to intervene in a Delhi High Court order that dismissed actor Jacqueline Fernandez’s plea to quash the Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR) in a ₹200 crore money laundering case.
The case centers around the alleged conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar. A bench comprising Justices Dipankar Datta and Augustine George Masih told senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi, representing Fernandez, on Monday, “We will not interfere at this stage.”
**Legal Proceedings**
Jacqueline Fernandez had challenged the Delhi High Court’s July 3 order, which had dismissed her petition to quash the ECIR filed in this money laundering investigation. The actor is named as an accused in the case lodged against Chandrasekhar and has appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for questioning multiple times.
While the Supreme Court did not grant relief to Fernandez today, it allowed her the option to approach the court again at an appropriate stage as the legal process unfolds.
**Case Details**
Sukesh Chandrasekhar and his wife are facing proceedings in multiple investigations, including the ED’s money laundering case. The Delhi Police have booked Chandrasekhar for allegedly duping the spouses of former Ranbaxy promoters, Shivinder Singh and Malvinder Singh, to the tune of ₹200 crore.
In addition to this case, Chandrasekhar and his wife, Leena Paulose, are under investigation in separate money laundering cases filed by the Enforcement Directorate.
Despite being in jail, Chandrasekhar has reportedly continued to send love letters and make controversial statements about Jacqueline Fernandez.
