Report: Bucky Irving gathering medical opinions on his foot/ankle injury
Buccaneers running back Bucky Irving underwent an MRI on his ankle and foot on Monday. According to NFL Media, Irving is currently gathering medical opinions regarding his injury, which suggests that the imaging revealed something concerning.
The Buccaneers have not ruled Irving out for their upcoming game against the Seahawks on Sunday, but his status remains uncertain as he continues to experience soreness. The team is set to return to practice on Wednesday, at which time they will be required to submit an official injury report.
Irving sustained the injury late in the first half, with just 22 seconds remaining, after catching a pass from Baker Mayfield and being stopped by Eagles linebacker Jihaad Campbell. Despite the injury, Irving returned to the field for the start of the second half and played 44 of the team’s 72 offensive snaps.
While the Buccaneers did not announce any in-game injury at the time, head coach Todd Bowles expressed concern about Irving’s condition on Monday.
So far this season, Irving has recorded 90 touches for 430 yards and two touchdowns, making his availability a key factor for the Buccaneers moving forward.
