
Preserve Craft Heritage, Increase Global Presence: MoS To Students At NIFT Bhopal’s 13th Convocation
**Minister of State for Textiles Urges NIFT Graduates to Preserve India’s Craft Heritage**
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Addressing the students of the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) here on Friday, Minister of State for Textiles, Pabitra Margherita, emphasized their vital role in preserving India’s rich craft heritage while boosting its presence on the global stage.
Margherita delivered her speech at the institute’s 13th convocation ceremony held at the Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Centre. The event celebrated the graduation of NIFT’s 14th batch, the class of 2025.
Tanu Kashyap, Director General of NIFT, urged the graduates to step into the world as conscious designers. She reminded them that design goes beyond creativity—it also entails responsibility. Kashyap praised the Bhopal campus as a vibrant learning hub for creative minds and acknowledged it as a constant pillar of strength whose vision continues to guide NIFT’s growth nationwide.
This year, a total of 91 students were awarded degrees across three disciplines:
– 27 in Fashion and Lifestyle Accessory Design (F&LAD)
– 32 in Textile Design (TD)
– 32 in Master of Fashion Management (MFM)
The NIFT Best Academic Performance Award was presented to the following gold medalists:
– Riya Jhavar (Accessory Design)
– Riddhi Jain (Textile Design)
– Sia Marwah (Master of Fashion Management)
– Modita Shah (Textile Design)
– Shaily Jain (Textile Design)
Congratulations to all the graduates as they embark on their professional journeys, carrying forward India’s craftsmanship and innovation with pride and responsibility.
