Porsche Pays Homage to F.A. Porsche With a 90-Unit 911 GT3 Touring Inspired by His Personal Car
**Celebrating Ferdinand Alexander Porsche’s 90th Birthday: The 911 GT3 90 F. A. Porsche Limited Edition**
December 11th marks what would have been Ferdinand Alexander Porsche’s 90th birthday—the visionary designer who gifted us the original 911 silhouette in 1963 and later established Porsche Design in 1972. While F. A. Porsche passed away in 2012, his influence on automotive design remains unsurpassed to this day.
To honor his legacy, Porsche’s Sonderwunsch division, in collaboration with F. A. Porsche’s son Mark, has unveiled a fitting tribute: the 911 GT3 90 F. A. Porsche. This special edition consists of just 90 units, each drawing inspiration directly from the G-Series 911 that Ferdinand Alexander personally drove during the 1980s.
**Green Machine: A Nod to History**
The special edition GT3 sports a unique “F. A. Green Metallic” exterior—a custom hue inspired by the Oak Green of F. A. Porsche’s own beloved 911. Built on the GT3 Touring platform (the more understated, wingless variant), it rides on satin black Sport Classic wheels featuring center-lock hubs adorned with the 1963 Porsche crest. The rear engine grille is finished with a gold “90 F. A. Porsche” badge, adding a distinguished touch.
**Interior Homage**
Step inside and the homages become even more personal. The cabin is appointed with Truffle Brown Club Leather seats featuring a specially developed F. A. Grid-Weave fabric pattern on the seat centers, inspired by F. A. Porsche’s favorite sport coat. This distinctive fabric also lines the glove box and trunk mat, tying the design together.
Other elegant touches include an open-pore walnut shift knob, Limestone contrast stitching throughout, and a gold dashboard plaque displaying the original 911’s silhouette beside F. A. Porsche’s signature. An additional plaque beneath the shift boot proudly confirms your car is “ONE of 90.”
**Track-Ready DNA Intact**
Mechanically, the car stays true to the GT3 Touring’s race-bred ethos. The 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six delivers 502 horsepower and can rev all the way to 9,000 rpm—still one of the most thrilling engines in the automotive world. Paired with the PDK transmission, the GT3 90 F. A. Porsche sprints from 0-60 mph in just 3.2 seconds and boasts a top speed of 193 mph.
The 992-generation GT3 also brings with it advanced motorsport technology, including double-wishbone front suspension and, on the standard model, the distinctive swan-neck rear wing (though the Touring variant utilizes a deployable spoiler). This means you’re not just buying a tribute car—you’re getting cutting-edge, race-derived hardware.
**Beyond the Car: Exclusive Accessories**
Buyers will receive more than just the car. Each owner gets an exclusive Porsche Design Chronograph 1 watch—a contemporary reinterpretation of the original timepiece that launched Porsche Design’s renowned watch line in 1972. The COSC-certified chronograph features a titanium case, Super-LumiNova coatings for a vintage look reminiscent of aged radium, and a rotor designed to match the car’s Sport Classic wheels.
Additionally, a Weekender bag crafted in matching Truffle Brown leather with the F. A. Grid-Weave lining is included, perfect for any Porsche enthusiast on the go.
**Spec Sheet: Pricing & Availability**
Starting at $387,000—nearly triple the standard GT3 Touring’s base price—the 911 GT3 90 F. A. Porsche Limited Edition is set to begin production in mid-2026. Each buyer is invited for a personalization consultation to tailor the car to their taste. Of the 90 units planned, one is earmarked for Mark Porsche himself, leaving just 89 available for the public.
This tribute not only celebrates F. A. Porsche’s formidable design legacy but also offers enthusiasts a rare opportunity to own a piece of Porsche history—both on the road and on their wrist.
