**Angell Roseanne Chambers**
Westerly, R.I. — Angell Roseanne Chambers, 80, of Westerly, Rhode Island, passed away surrounded by the love of family on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. She was the loving wife of Terry L. Chambers.
Born Margaret Roseanne King in Huntington, West Virginia on March 5, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Dwight Lyman Moody and Margaret Mildred (Moss) King. Later in life, she changed her name to Angell, with two L’s, because throughout her life people always called her a little angel. She added the extra “L” to be unique.
Angell had a very analytical mind that was always looking to ensure things were done correctly and sought innovations to improve processes. She applied this mindset throughout her working years, holding a variety of roles including pharmacy clerk, propellant plant worker and truck driver, nuclear power plant worker, licensed massage therapist, and finally an electrical system designer at Electric Boat in Groton, Connecticut, where she met her husband.
She was a very loving person with an expressive personality. Angell was an avid organic gardener and landscape designer who loved the outdoors, cats and dogs, butterflies, and ladybugs. She enjoyed traveling to see new places and trying new experiences which she shared with her husband.
Prior to meeting Terry in 1995, Angell led a diverse and interesting life. She was raised in Indian Head, Maryland, as the youngest child to parents who had her later in life; her brothers were 13 and 9 years older than she was. Her father was completing his military career as a Navy corpsman and retired a few years after her birth. She attended the nearest Catholic school and held great regard for the nuns who taught her, despite her probing questions about God and the Catholic faith.
During her childhood, Angell was called Peggy and loved ballet dancing and roller skating. She also had some unique experiences, including flying to New York at the age of ten with her mother to appear on the game show *The Name Is the Same,* where she met George Gobel, singer Peggy King, and panelist Mike Wallace.
Angell married early in life before finishing high school and started her married life as a homemaker and mother to her daughter Renee. She eventually earned her GED certificate and pursued further education at various schools to improve her knowledge and support herself as a single parent. She was always forward-looking, living life to the fullest, ending her working career, and marrying her loving husband for the last 30 years of her life.
Besides her husband Terry, she is survived by her grandson, Douglas A. Jarman of Mechanicsville, Maryland; stepsons Stuart L. Chambers of Santa Rosa, California, and Jonathan P. Chambers of Westerly, Rhode Island; and five step-grandchildren: Rachael, Hannah, William, Katie, and Andrew.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Jack and Thomas King, and her daughter Katherine Renee Jarman.
A celebration of life will be held for family and friends at a later date. Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home, 121 Main Street, Westerly, RI 02891, is assisting the family with arrangements. For online condolences, please visit their website.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Angell’s name may be made to Sisters of Mercy of the Americas, 15 Highland View Rd, Cumberland, RI 02864.
