**Nottingham Forest Head Coach Ange Postecoglou Brushes Off Pressure Amid Poor Start**
Nottingham Forest head coach Ange Postecoglou has remained unfazed by the mounting pressure surrounding his position. The Australian took over from Nuno Espirito Santo at the City Ground but has yet to secure a win in his first six matches in charge.
Despite the club’s poor performances, including a recent 3-2 UEFA Europa League home defeat to Midtjylland, Postecoglou shrugged off chants from some fans saying, “You’re getting sacked in the morning.”
### Resilience in the Face of Pressure
Postecoglou emphasized that pressure does not influence his management style. “It doesn’t enter my head,” he stated firmly.
“My responsibility lies in making sure this football club progresses and gets to a position where it can challenge for things,” Postecoglou explained. “If I start putting timelines to that or worry about what is going to happen next week, then I am not performing the role I have been given.”
He added, “I just don’t think it is helpful to anyone. At the end of the day, I have to concentrate on the environment, the training, the way we play. As I said last night, I am still very, very strong in my belief that we are not too far away.”
Reflecting on his previous experience, Postecoglou shared, “Put it this way, I knew I was getting sacked at Tottenham about three or four months before I did, but that didn’t stop me from winning something.”
### Performance Review: Nottingham Forest’s Difficult Start
Forest have had a difficult start to the season, conceding 13 goals at an average of 2.17 per game—worse only than Manchester United and Burnley in the league. This marks the 35th time a top-flight manager has failed to claim a win in their first six matches in charge across all competitions.
Despite these struggles, Postecoglou remains focused on winning games rather than simply trying to win over supporters.
### Managerial Outlook and Upcoming Fixtures
Following the recent defeat, Postecoglou’s press conference was more philosophical than combative. He acknowledged questions about his future and potential discussions with club owner Evangelos Marinakis, even though he has been in charge for just 24 days.
Despite the pressure, Postecoglou believes that victories will ultimately silence the doubters.
Nottingham Forest’s upcoming fixtures under Postecoglou include a Premier League trip to Newcastle United on Sunday, followed by matches against Chelsea, Porto (in the Europa League), Bournemouth, and Manchester United later this month.
