**Mumbai: Singer Vipul Chheda Arrested for Alleged Cheating of Rs 5.41 Lakh**
The Malad police have arrested singer Vipul Chheda, 37, for allegedly cheating a jeweller of Rs 5.41 lakh. After being absconding for a month, Vipul was finally caught on September 25.
Vipul Chheda, who runs Dharma Associates, reportedly bought a diamond bracelet from Saisiddhi Jewellers in Borivali West through a marketing assistant, Rima Chheda. Rima earns commissions by referring customers to the jeweller.
On April 22, Vipul asked Rima to bring the bracelets near Malad’s Bata showroom. He purchased one bracelet and issued a cheque to pay for it. However, the cheque bounced. Vipul neither made the payment nor returned the bracelet.
Following the complaint, the Malad police launched an investigation that led to his arrest.
