**Mumbai Man Arrested for Attempted Murder Following Road Rage Incident**

Mumbai: A 27-year-old man with a prior criminal record has been arrested by Agripada police for the attempted murder of 30-year-old Pritam Kavi Utkar, following a violent road rage incident. The accused, identified as Asif Salim Shaikh alias Langda, had been evading the authorities since the brutal attack on September 29.

### Road Rage Turns Violent

According to police reports, the incident took place around 11:00 AM on September 29 near Santoshi Mata Mandir on Dr. E Moses Road, Saat Rasta, Mumbai. The victim, Utkar, was riding his Activa scooter when the confrontation began.

The accused, Asif Shaikh, allegedly became enraged after Utkar’s scooter brushed past him. What started as a minor incident quickly escalated into a deadly encounter.

### Victim Stabbed Multiple Times

Following a verbal altercation, Shaikh reportedly abused Utkar and then, with intent to kill, attacked him with a knife. The victim sustained multiple stab wounds to his neck and stomach.

As Utkar tried to flee to save his life, the assailant stabbed him in the back as well.

### Police Register Case and Launch Hunt

Based on Utkar’s complaint, the Agripada police registered a case under Sections 109 and 351 (3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and initiated an investigation.

Shaikh had gone into hiding since the crime. To track him down, two teams from the Crime Detection Branch were deployed.

### Crime Detection Teams Apprehend Accused

Acting on a tip-off, the Agripada Police Station’s Crime Detection Squad successfully arrested Asif Shaikh.

### History of Criminal Cases

The Agripada police revealed that the accused has a history of criminal activity, with four previous cases registered against him—one each at CSMT Railway and Kalyan Railway police stations, and two at Dadar Railway police station.

Further investigation into the current case continues, police said.
