Mumbai: Aarey Police Arrest Male Dancer For Allegedly Sexually Assaulting Female Colleague In Goregaon West

Mumbai: The Aarey police have arrested a 29-year-old male dancer for allegedly sexually assaulting his 31-year-old female colleague. The accused, identified as Ashutosh Mohanty, who resides in Malad West, was taken into custody in the last week of September and is currently held at the police station.

**Goregaon West Villa Case Involves Two Dancers**

According to the police, the incident occurred on 17 March 2025 at a villa in Royal Palms, Aarey Colony, Goregaon West. Both the victim and the accused belong to the same dance profession and were acquainted with each other.

Ashutosh Mohanty hails from Odisha, while the victim is from Meghalaya. The two had previously worked together and even traveled to Goa for dance performances. After returning to Mumbai, the victim reached out to him for dance lessons.

Initially, they attempted to book the Andheri Sports Complex for practice sessions, but it was unavailable. Consequently, they decided to practice at Royal Palms, Aarey Colony.

Following their swimming and dance practice, the pair ordered food and consumed alcohol and smoked together.

In the last week of September, the woman approached the Aarey police station and filed a complaint of sexual harassment against her colleague. Promptly, the police registered a case and arrested the accused on the same day.
