Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Urban Development Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya addressed the controversy surrounding his recent remarks made in Shajapur on Thursday. Speaking in Bhopal on Friday, Vijayvargiya clarified that he had never questioned the sacredness of relationships, emphasizing that his comments were specifically about culture and tradition.
“In Indian culture, all relations are sacred, but every relation carries a certain dignity. What is prevalent in foreign countries is not acceptable in our society,” he stated. He added that he, too, kisses the head of his sister, underscoring that his remarks focused solely on Indian culture and foreign customs.
Vijayvargiya expressed that had people listened to his entire speech, they would not have raised such questions. “Only parts of my speech were heard, and questions were raised,” the minister said.
Meanwhile, the Congress party staged a sit-in protest outside Vijayvargiya’s residence in Bhopal, demanding his resignation from the ministry.

This is not our culture.” Shah further elaborated, “Every civilization has different customs. In Hindu tradition, we do not accept many things which are awkward.”
