Malik Beasley still supporting Detroit Pistons on social media, even as he sits unsigned
Malik Beasley isn’t on the Detroit Pistons’ roster this season, but that hasn’t stopped him from supporting his former teammates.
Beasley was reportedly in line to sign a contract worth $42 million this offseason before he became embroiled in a gambling scandal involving allegedly suspicious prop bets made on his play during his time with the Milwaukee Bucks. This situation has left him in limbo and without a roster spot as the NBA season is well underway, with investigations from both the NBA and government still ongoing.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding his status, Beasley continues to show support for the Pistons. He recently posted on his Instagram story, “@detroitpistons first in East and nobody talking bout it is crazy .. nothing new.”
That came after Beasley declared that the only NBA team he would consider playing for this season is the Pistons. He has been posting almost daily updates from his workouts at the University of Detroit Mercy’s gym.
“If I do go back to the NBA, it’s gonna be with the Pistons,” Beasley said in a social media video. “I haven’t signed anything yet, but I have my strongest ties there. I had my best season there last year, and hopefully I can fit back in with the team.”
Beasley’s connection with Detroit remains strong as he waits for clarity on his future in the league.
