Lane Kiffin's newest relationship with LSU star Whit Weeks
Lane Kiffin, the self-proclaimed goofball of college football and a fixture of social media wit, finds himself at the center of a unique personal storyline as Ole Miss faces LSU. Not only is Kiffin coaching against the Tigers’ emerging linebacker Whit Weeks, but Weeks is also dating Kiffin’s daughter, Landry—a fact that has electrified the SEC’s latest rivalry showdown.
Kiffin, never one to shy away from a viral moment, offered a quintessentially lighthearted reaction to the news. After Landry and Weeks made their relationship Instagram official earlier this week, Kiffin replied to a viral social media post about the budding romance and the looming matchup, quipping simply, “Take the over,” in reference to the anticipated high-scoring affair between the two teams.
Landry Kiffin, 20, an Ole Miss student, publicly supported her dad and her boyfriend in the days leading up to the game. On game day, she surprised friends and fans by sporting a custom LSU-themed dress featuring Weeks’ No. 40, before meeting up with her dad for a pregame photo.
Asked about the family connection at his regular press conference, Kiffin leaned into dad mode before putting on his coach’s hat: “Whit is an awesome kid and comes from a great family,” Kiffin said on September 24. “I’m glad those two are happy together. It has nothing to do with the game itself. It’s a really great family.”
