**Jasprit Bumrah Likely to Play in West Indies Test Series, Confirms Assistant Coach Ten Doeschate**

India’s star pacer Jasprit Bumrah is expected to feature in the upcoming two-match Test series against the West Indies, confirmed India’s assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate. The series is set to begin on October 2 at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.
### Bumrah Set to Feature in West Indies Tests
Speaking ahead of India’s clash against Bangladesh, ten Doeschate emphasized the importance of match practice for Bumrah, stating, “It’s unlikely that Bumrah will be rested. He’s set to play the West Indies Tests. We’ve got important matches coming up, and it’s good for him to keep playing and get more match time.”
Despite India’s unbeaten run in the Asia Cup, the assistant coach highlighted the need for continued preparation to maintain peak performance levels.
### Performance Review and Squad Rotation
India recently secured a six-wicket victory over Pakistan in their first Super Four match. However, ten Doeschate admitted that the team’s performance was somewhat “scrappy.” He said, “We weren’t clinical enough. The last week has been tough, but the way the boys played in those two games was amazing.”
Discussing the squad rotation strategy, ten Doeschate noted that the team experimented throughout the Asia Cup and bilateral series, giving various players an opportunity to showcase their talent and managing workloads effectively.
### Managing Bumrah’s Workload
Bumrah’s workload management has been a significant talking point since the England tour, where he played only three of the five Tests to manage his fitness. With the Asia Cup being a T20 format, workload concerns have lessened somewhat.
Bumrah delivered impressive performances against UAE and Pakistan before missing the Oman game. In the Super Four match against Pakistan, he conceded 45 runs in four overs. Nevertheless, he is now expected to take the field in the upcoming Tests against the West Indies.
### Bumrah’s Last Test Against West Indies
Bumrah last appeared in a Test match versus the West Indies during India’s 2019 tour. He recorded his career-best bowling figures of 6/27 in that series and made history by taking an incredible hat-trick in the 2nd Test.

With Bumrah’s return, India looks to strengthen its bowling attack as they prepare to take on the West Indies in the home Test series starting early October. Fans can expect the pacer to bring his formidable skills back to the longest format of the game.
