Jaguars star Travis Hunter’s wife Leanna had just 2 words for his first NFL TD
It took seven weeks, but Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback and receiver Travis Hunter finally scored a touchdown, showcasing his talent as one of the NFL’s best two-way players. His wife, Leanna, was thrilled by the milestone, captioning her post with, “ABOUT. TIME. !!!!!”
Hunter and Leanna have been together since college, and after three-and-a-half years, they got married in May 2025.
### Travis Hunter’s First NFL Touchdown
After six games without a touchdown, Hunter broke through in the Jaguars’ seventh game against the Los Angeles Rams in London. Despite the team’s blowout loss, Hunter had a season-high 14 targets, catching eight passes for 101 yards. His touchdown came in the fourth quarter when the Jaguars were trailing 28-0, preventing the game from ending in a shutout.
### Team Performance Update
The Jaguars have now dropped two straight games after a strong 4-1 start to the season. Following their loss to the Seattle Seahawks, they fell again to the Rams. Quarterback Matthew Stafford threw a season-high five touchdowns against Jacksonville.
### Hunter’s Defensive and Offensive Contributions
In the game, Hunter recorded one pass deflection but did not intercept any passes. As a two-way player drafted specifically to contribute on both sides of the ball, Hunter continues to develop his skills at cornerback and wide receiver.
So far this season, Hunter has made 15 tackles and three pass deflections on defense. On offense, he has caught 28 passes for 298 yards and one touchdown, gaining 12 first downs. Additionally, he has rushed the ball once, though for no gain.
### A Star from College to the NFL
Hunter was a standout player at Colorado, winning the Heisman Trophy for his 2024 campaign. The Jaguars selected him with the second overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
During his 2024 season with Colorado, Hunter caught 96 passes for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns. On defense, he recorded 35 tackles and intercepted four passes, showcasing his rare ability to excel on both offense and defense.
As Hunter continues to adjust to the NFL, Jaguars fans remain excited to see his two-way impact grow throughout the season.
