Is the Glaxion Vandal worth it in Warframe?
Getting weapons in Warframe to the point where they can do the required damage to matter in the game’s tougher content can take a lot of time and investment. From Catalysts to Forma and Adapters, you can find yourself investing a lot of your hard-earned resources, and nobody wants to do that with the wrong weapon. So, is the Glaxion Vandal worth it in Warframe?
### Glaxion Vandal vs. Standard Glaxion and Tenet Glaxion
The Glaxion Vandal is definitely better than the standard Glaxion, offering improvements in several key areas. However, it doesn’t quite reach the level of the Tenet Glaxion, which many consider to be the best in class for this weapon type.
If you are new to Warframe and looking for a weapon that can perform well into the early Steel Path content, the Glaxion Vandal can fit that role with a substantial amount of investment. That being said, the Tenet Glaxion is likely far more worthy of your resources, so holding out until you can obtain one from a Sister of Parvos is usually the smarter move.
### Advantages of the Glaxion Vandal
Compared to the normal Glaxion, the Vandal version boasts:
– Higher base damage
– Improved critical chance
– Increased status chance
– Larger magazine size
– Faster reload speed
– Greater ammo reserves
These upgrades make the Glaxion Vandal a clear winner over the base version. If you are already a fan of the Glaxion, the Vandal is certainly an upgrade in almost every way.
### Mod Synergy: Photon Overcharge
One notable advantage of the Glaxion Vandal is its compatibility with the **Photon Overcharge** mod. This mod can be purchased from Nora’s Nightwave shop for Cred Offerings when it appears in the prize rotation.
Photon Overcharge grants:
– Increased critical damage
– A 2% chance to drop an energy orb on kills or assists affected by Cold status
This makes the Vandal an even more attractive option for players wanting to enhance their energy sustain and damage output.
### Suggested Build and Playstyle
Above, you might have seen my preferred Tenet Glaxion build, which can work equally well on the Glaxion Vandal if you choose. This build is designed to synergize with Frost’s fourth ability, where you use his armor-stripping power and then shred enemies using the weapon’s beams and Gas status procs.
If you don’t have an alternate source of armor stripping, consider swapping out **Thermite Rounds** for **High Voltage** or another Electric mod to switch the status effect from Gas to Corrosive. For an additional damage boost, subsuming **Nourish** on your Warframe is a great way to apply Viral damage easily.

In summary, the Glaxion Vandal is a worthwhile upgrade over the standard Glaxion and can perform decently into the early Steel Path with enough investment. However, if possible, waiting for the Tenet Glaxion is recommended for the best overall performance with this weapon type.
