Instagram hits 3 billion Monthly Active Users
As Instagram continues to amass more users, the picture and video-sharing app has reached a new milestone. Instagram has officially hit 3 billion Monthly Active Users (MAUs), making it the third Meta-owned app to achieve this impressive feat.
Mark Zuckerberg confirmed the news today, as reported by CNBC. This milestone represents a significant portion of the global population and puts Instagram in the same league as Facebook and WhatsApp.
“What an incredible community we’ve built here,” Zuckerberg said of the announcement.
Meta, the parent company of Instagram, has stopped reporting MAU figures for its apps on a quarterly basis but still shares them when major milestones are reached. Instagram previously crossed the 2 billion Monthly Active Users mark back in 2022, while Facebook reached 3 billion MAUs in 2023.
Over the years, Instagram has continued to roll out new features, with recent updates focusing on video-sharing and AI integration to enhance user experience.
Meta is expected to report its next round of earnings in October, which may provide more insights into the company’s growth and future plans.
