There are five weapon rarity levels in Battlefield 6: REDSEC: gray, green, blue, purple, and red. To upgrade your weapon, you need to find weapon kits scattered throughout the world of Fort Lyndon. Each kit corresponds to a specific weapon type and improves your weapon by one rarity level — for example, from gray to green, or green to blue.
Once you have the appropriate weapon kit, open your inventory and select the weapon you want to upgrade. You’ll notice a set of three rising colored arrows next to upgradable weapons, indicating the next rarity level your weapon will reach. Confirm your choice to proceed.
After confirming, you’ll face one more decision. Each upgrade offers two different paths, usually a choice between sight attachments. The highest weapon rarity in REDSEC is red. However, red upgrades cannot be obtained through weapon kits like the others. Instead, they come only from custom weapon drops that appear during matches. It’s worth noting that your starting pistol is already of red rarity, but in practice, this weapon is not very competitive.
