Heat make franchise history with dominant 1st quarter vs. Hornets
The Miami Heat made franchise history during the first quarter of Friday night’s NBA Cup matchup against the Charlotte Hornets.
Going into the contest, Miami was without key star players Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro due to injury. The team held a 4-4 record prior to Friday’s game, showing they had been competitive to start the year. Facing a Hornets squad looking for winning momentum, the Heat seized the opportunity to get off to a hot start.
It was in the first quarter that Miami delivered an incredible performance, scoring 53 points in just the first 12 minutes of regulation. This impressive effort set a new franchise record for the most points scored in any quarter.
