Fortnite Sidekicks are new customizable companions
Epic Games has announced the launch of Sidekicks, new companion creatures that will accompany players in Fortnite. These customizable companions are designed to join players across various game modes, including Battle Royale and LEGO Fortnite, adding a fun new layer to gameplay.
Sidekicks will make their highly anticipated debut when the next Fortnite season kicks off on November 1, 2025. The announcement was detailed in a recent blog post from Epic Games, highlighting how these companions travel alongside players as they explore the island and face off against enemies.
While Sidekicks do not provide any competitive advantage, they enhance the player experience by mimicking emotes and reacting dynamically to in-game action. This adds a personalized and engaging touch without affecting gameplay balance.
Most Sidekicks will be customizable at the time they are first acquired. However, once players finalize their customizations, these changes become permanent, allowing for unique and personalized companions. Sidekicks can also earn Sidekick Points (SP), which players can spend to unlock new cosmetic options and further personalize their companions.
Several Sidekicks have already been revealed. For example, Peels—a playful banana puppy—will be available to earn through the new Battle Pass starting November 1, 2025. Additionally, popular Sidekicks such as Bonesy, Spike, and Lil’ Raptor will be offered in the Item Shop beginning November 7.
