Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 reveals new synopsis and character descriptions, and it sounds like Freddy Fazbear is now a celebrity

The updated synopsis, shared by Collider, reads:

In their small town, the story of Freddy’s has already warped into a campfire tale, inspiring the first-ever ‘Fazfest’ — a kitschy local celebration that proves some legends should stay buried. Mike and Vanessa have done everything to protect Abby from the truth about her animatronic friends, but when she sneaks out to find them, her decision reignites horrors that were never meant to be unearthed.”*

While this description is somewhat similar to the previous one for the movie, the new detail describing Fazfest as a *“kitschy local celebration”* hints that William Afton might not be the only animatronic-obsessed person to watch out for.

We catch a glimpse of Fazfest in the latest *Five Nights at Freddy’s 2* trailer, where members of the public are seen at a carnival-like event, dressed up as Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy. This fan enthusiasm could be the key to how the animatronics break free from the restaurant and enter the real world.

Additionally, the trailer introduces a young man, played by Freddy Carter, venturing into Freddy’s Fazbear’s and pulling back a curtain. According to a new character description shared by FNAF Movie Updates on Twitter, Carter’s character, Michael, is described as *“a young man with a peculiar interest in the Freddy Fazbear legend.”* It seems Michael may be a little too obsessed with the killer robots.

But that’s not all. The fan page also revealed new details about Marionette, a character originating from the *Five Nights at Freddy’s* games who will make her on-screen debut in the sequel. The new description highlights that Marionette is a *“true practical puppet”* rather than an animatronic, controlled by a team of five puppeteers who work together to create her movements.

Marionette first appeared in the second *Five Nights at Freddy’s* game, where she is famously possessed by the soul of Henry Emily’s daughter, believed to have been murdered by William Afton.

The sequel will also introduce Henry Emily himself, played by Skeet Ulrich, as he joins forces with Mike (Josh Hutcherson) and Vanessa (Elizabeth Lail) on their quest to uncover Afton’s dark past.
