Final Fantasy 14 is removing class & level restrictions on glamour
Glamours have long provided a fun and creative way for Final Fantasy 14 players to express themselves. By allowing players to overlay the appearance of desired armor onto their actual gear, glamours enable better customization without sacrificing stats. However, a notable restriction within this system is set to be removed in the upcoming December update.
Square Enix recently revealed this exciting change during their latest Letter from the Producer video. In Patch 7.4, scheduled to launch on all platforms in mid-December, glamours will no longer be restricted by level or job/class. Previously, if you had a Lancer’s glamour for a chest plate, you couldn’t equip it on a Dark Knight’s armor. That limitation will be lifted, giving players much greater freedom to mix and match any glamour they want—regardless of their current level or class.
The only exception to this new freedom applies to weapons. Due to mechanical constraints and to avoid awkward visual results, weapon glamours will still be subject to certain restrictions. But for armor and other gear, players can look forward to virtually unlimited customization options.
This update makes Final Fantasy 14 Patch 7.4 a highly anticipated release, especially for fashion-forward players eager to experiment with their character’s appearance. It also comes on the heels of a recent collaboration event that brought Monster Hunter: World items, characters, cosmetics, and even the mighty Arkveld dragon into the game.
With these exciting changes, the world of Eorzea is about to become even more stylish and diverse than ever before.
