In another clip posted by GPlus, he emphasized the importance of the song, saying, “Moy morile eitu gaan he bajibo kintu” (When I die, this song should play). In a heartfelt tribute, hundreds of fans gathered outside Zubeen Garg’s residence in Guwahati on Saturday and Sunday. Before his mortal remains were taken to Sarusajai Stadium for public homage, admirers sang *Mayabini* together in emotional unison, fulfilling the late singer’s final wish.
Videos shared online capture groups of fans singing the evergreen song with deep reverence, reflecting the profound impact Zubeen had on his audience. The spirit of unity and respect echoed through the crowd as they honored his legacy in the way he had envisioned.
### Clarifying the Circumstances of His Death
According to reports, Zubeen Garg was swimming in Singapore when he suffered a seizure. He had gone for a swim with companions who were all wearing life jackets and returned to the shore safely on a yacht. However, Zubeen went back for another swim, during which the seizure occurred.
Zubeen Garg, widely admired as a singer, actor, and philanthropist, was in Singapore serving as the Cultural Brand Ambassador for the North East India Festival, which was scheduled for September 20-21 but was later canceled.
