The games industry mourns the passing of Tomonobu Itagaki. Itagaki’s influence on 3D fighting game design will be felt for decades. Harada honors his 3D fighting game rival and respected friend. Team Ninja pays tribute to the studio’s first leader. Ed Boon also honors Itagaki-san. This has been a true outpouring of love and respect for their friend’s passing—not just a friend, but a leader and a teacher.

Masahiro Sakurai prays for Itagaki’s eternal peace.

Rest in peace, Paul Williams. Both SEGA Amusements International and Bandai Namco honored Paul’s memory today. It has truly been a sad week for the video game industry.
