Victor Wembanyama had a hilarious reaction to an astounding highlight from Stephon Castle during the San Antonio Spurs’ preseason finale against the Indiana Pacers on Friday night.
Wembanyama is preparing for the third season of his NBA career with the Spurs. Going into the halftime break, the Spurs held a narrow 66-63 lead over the Pacers. Both teams battled back and forth throughout the first half. San Antonio started hot, taking a 39-28 lead after the first quarter. However, Indiana responded strongly by winning the second quarter 35-27, cutting the Spurs’ lead down to just three points at halftime.
Three Spurs players scored in double digits in the first half, including Wembanyama and Castle. Wembanyama contributed 11 points, eight rebounds, two blocks, one assist, and one steal. He shot an efficient 4-of-6 from the field, including 1-of-1 from three-point range, and went a perfect 2-of-2 from the free-throw line.
Castle led the team with 13 points and five assists, while Luke Kornet added 10 points and four rebounds. Devin Vassell also chipped in nine points and four assists.
