Escudero: P30-M donation from contractor-friend from private fund
MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero reiterated in his explanation to the Commission on Elections (Comelec) that he accepted a P30 million donation from a contractor-friend for his Senate campaign in May 2022.
He maintained that he believed the money was given by the donor in a “personal capacity.”
Escudero addressed questions from reporters regarding his affidavit, emphasizing the nature of the donation and his understanding at the time.
