Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi Says He’s ‘Getting Help From Inside ECI’ To Expose Alleged Vote Fraud – Video
New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has alleged that he is “getting help” from people working within the Election Commission of India (ECI) to uncover alleged vote fraud in the country.
At a press conference held earlier today at the Congress headquarters, Indira Bhawan, the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha stated, “We have started getting help from inside the Election Commission. I am making it clear that we are now getting information from inside the Election Commission. This was not happening before, but now we are getting information from inside the Election Commission, and this is not going to stop. India’s people will not accept this. Once the youth come to know that vote chori (vote theft) is happening, then their power will come.”
Rahul Gandhi accused the Chief Election Commissioner, Gyanesh Kumar, of “protecting vote chors” and claimed he is fully aware of how fraud is occurring through the deletion and addition of fake voters in the electoral rolls.
The Congress leader further alleged that at least 6,000 votes were fraudulently deleted in the Aland Assembly constituency segment in Karnataka. He also previously claimed that the Mahadevpura assembly segment in the same state had witnessed similar voter fraud.
“In election after election, someone, some group of people have been systematically targeting voters for deletions across India. Different communities — mainly those voting for the opposition, including Dalits, OBCs, Adivasis, and minorities — are specifically targeted,” Gandhi said. “We had heard this many times, and now we have found 100 per cent proof of it. I am not going to say anything on this stage that is not backed up by 100 per cent proof. I am somebody who loves my country, Constitution, the democratic process, and I am protecting that process.”
Speaking specifically about the Aland constituency, he explained, “Around 6,018 votes were deleted fraudulently by unknown people who used software and impersonated real voters. We don’t know the total number of votes deleted in the 2023 elections, but somebody got caught — it was caught by coincidence. What happened was that the Booth Level Officer noticed that her uncle’s vote had been deleted.”
Opposition parties have repeatedly claimed that the Election Commission of India, allegedly in collusion with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), is involved in deleting and adding fraudulent votes in voter rolls during various elections.
Rahul Gandhi has claimed that such fraud has taken place not only in Karnataka but also in the Maharashtra Assembly elections and various other assembly segments.
In response to these allegations, the ECI has requested the Congress leader to sign an affidavit and submit concrete proof.
Following Gandhi’s press conference, the poll panel also held a separate press briefing where they addressed questions related to the ongoing Special Intensive Revision in Bihar and responded to the opposition’s allegations.
