CONFIRMED: S S Rajamouli-Mahesh Babu-Priyanka Chopra’s film titled Varanasi
S S Rajamouli, the acclaimed filmmaker behind the epic Baahubali series, recently released *Baahubali: The Epic*, a combined version of *Baahubali: The Beginning* (2015) and *Baahubali 2: The Conclusion* (2017). As November arrives, all his focus is on his upcoming ambitious film starring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra, and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
There have been various reports regarding the film’s title, often referred to as SSMB29. While some sources suggested the name *Globetrotter*, recent information reveals that the film has officially been titled **Varanasi**.
Bollywood Hungama has learned from reliable sources that the team has locked in the title. According to an insider, “The name of the film is indeed *Varanasi*. It is said that the title rights were previously held by someone else, but S S Rajamouli’s team reached out and secured them.”
The source further added, “It is an apt title as per the story of the film. Hence, they were very keen on naming their film *Varanasi*.”
Excitingly, reports confirm that a grand announcement event is scheduled for November 15 at Ramoji Rao Film City, Hyderabad. Alongside S S Rajamouli, stars Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra, and Prithviraj Sukumaran are expected to attend. The team will also include Oscar-winning music director M M Keeravani.
Fans will have an opportunity to attend the launch event, which is also set to be live-streamed on JioHotstar, allowing enthusiasts worldwide to be a part of the celebration.
*Varanasi* marks Rajamouli’s immediate next project following his global blockbuster *RRR* (2022). The Ram Charan and Jr NTR starrer was a phenomenal success worldwide, celebrated for its gripping storytelling, stellar performances, and memorable soundtrack. The song “Naatu Naatu” notably won the Best Original Song award at the 95th Academy Awards.
This legacy has increased anticipation for *Varanasi*, which holds the potential to resonate not only across India and the South East Asian diaspora but also with global audiences.
