Colo. 392 intersection at Weld County Road 27 to get improvements
The intersection of Colo. 392 and the south leg of Weld County Road 27 is set to see improvements after the county approved an agreement with the Colorado Department of Transportation. CDOT will design and construct several improvements to the intersection, including widening both roads to accommodate auxiliary left-turn lanes and adding 6-foot paved shoulders to Weld 27. Weld County will contribute $5. 2 million for the improvements. The county determined improvements were needed due to the increasing number of vehicle collisions at this intersection. About 11, 470 vehicles pass through the intersection daily. CDOT will begin construction after finalizing the design of the improvements. The county does not have an estimated start date for the construction. “During community meetings last year, we received consistent feedback about this intersection, identifying a need to make it safer, which we’re excited to do through this agreement,” Weld County Commissioner Kevin Ross said in a news release. “Those concerns have been heard, and the commitment of these funds marks an important first step in the project.”.
