Clovis woman gives birth to ‘miracle’ baby while battling stage four lymphoma
**Alyssa Kincaid’s Inspiring Journey: Fighting Cancer While Welcoming a New Life**
CLOVIS, Calif. (KFSN) — Action News first introduced you to 27-year-old Alyssa Kincaid back in July. The young mother-to-be was 20 weeks pregnant when she received the devastating diagnosis of stage four, aggressive lymphoma.
Months later, on September 19th, 2025, Alyssa gave birth to a healthy baby girl. Two hearts, one remarkable journey.
“We’re just so happy! I just feel excitement and joy looking at her and hope. Because if she can come out being healthy and normal and happy—all those things after the chemo that she’s been through with me—I’ll be okay,” says Alyssa Kincaid, cancer patient and new mom.
**A Miraculous Arrival**
Baby Addison Marie, who weighed three pounds, nine ounces at birth, is nothing short of a real-life miracle.
It was a dream come true when Alyssa first found out she was pregnant. Like any soon-to-be mother, she closely monitored her symptoms but quickly realized something wasn’t quite right. After visiting several doctors, at five months pregnant, the devastating news came: Alyssa had stage four lymphoma.
**Fighting Together: Mom and Baby**
Since her diagnosis, both Alyssa and her baby have undergone five rounds of chemotherapy together. Remarkably, just two weeks after completing their last session, baby Addi arrived early via a safe C-section at Saint Agnes Medical Center.
“Kind of crazy that my little chemo buddy is with me today. It’s been really heartwarming to have her with me through all of the chemo,” Alyssa shared.
The newborn spent 16 days in the NICU, where doctors ran numerous tests to ensure her well-being. Now, a month after being born, baby Addi is thriving—gaining weight steadily and full of health and happiness.
**Family’s Emotional Support**
“It was nerve-racking. I was lucky enough to be in the C-section room with Alyssa and Zach, and emotions took over the moment they pulled her out and she screamed. Gosh, she shot out. Alyssa is a fighter, and that baby screamed coming out. She’s a fighter also,” recalls Amanda Kincaid, Alyssa’s mother.
From their community in Clovis to the greater Central Valley, this journey has brought strangers together, turning them into extended family.
“When you go through something like this, and everybody steps up and rallies and treats you as one of their own, it’s hard to describe, but it was a big deal for all of us,” says Adam Kincaid, Alyssa’s dad.
**Looking Forward to a Brighter Future**
The birth of baby Addi marks the first step in Alyssa’s path to recovery as she focuses on becoming cancer-free. With her daughter in her arms, Alyssa embraces a hopeful future alongside her growing family.
“It’s very unique what Addie and I have gone through together, but I think in the end everything happens for a reason. We’re just happy that she’s here and she’s healthy,” Alyssa reflects.
Baby Addi will continue undergoing tests over the coming months as doctors closely monitor her health, while Alyssa persists with her chemotherapy treatments.
To support the Kincaid family during this challenging journey, a GoFundMe page has been set up. You can find the link [here].
