Cinetic Signs Oscar-Winning Filmmaker Morgan Neville
**EXCLUSIVE: Acclaimed Documentarian Morgan Neville Signs with Cinetic for Directing Representation**
Morgan Neville, the Oscar, Emmy, and Grammy-winning documentarian renowned for films such as *20 Feet from Stardom* and *Won’t You Be My Neighbor?*, has officially signed with Cinetic for directing representation.
In a statement to Deadline, John Sloss, Founder & CEO of Cinetic, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership:
“We are thrilled to be in business with Morgan. He is by any measure a world-class storyteller who until now has dedicated his talents to documentaries. Our goal is to amplify those pursuits and help facilitate his inevitable expansion into scripted storytelling.”
Neville’s impressive accolades include winning the Oscar for Best Documentary Feature and the Grammy for Best Music Film for his 2014 documentary *20 Feet from Stardom*. The film highlights the backup singers who have supported some of the biggest names in music but rarely received the spotlight themselves.
His 2015 documentary *Best of Enemies*, which chronicled the televised 1969 debates between liberal writer Gore Vidal and conservative commentator William F. Buckley Jr., earned Neville an Emmy and was shortlisted for an Oscar.
Neville is also behind the critically acclaimed *Won’t You Be My Neighbor?* (2018), a documentary about beloved TV host Fred Rogers. This film became the highest-grossing biographical documentary of all time. More recently, he directed *Steve! (Martin) A Documentary in Two Pieces* (2024) for Apple TV+, which garnered him an Emmy nomination.
At the Telluride Film Festival, Neville premiered *Man on the Run*, a documentary focusing on Paul McCartney’s life and career during the 1970s. Amazon MGM is set to release the film in February 2026.
Beyond directing, Neville serves as President and Founder of Tremolo Productions, an award-winning production company dedicated to quality non-fiction storytelling. He continues to be represented by WME.
Stay tuned as Morgan Neville embarks on this exciting new chapter, broadening his creative horizons into scripted storytelling under Cinetic’s guidance.
