**Vijay Kumar, General Manager, Central Railway Felicitates 11 Employees with Safety Awards**
On 7th October 2025, Vijay Kumar, General Manager of Central Railway, felicitated 11 Central Railway employees for their exemplary alertness and dedication towards safety. The award ceremony was held at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Mumbai.
The Safety Awards were presented in recognition of the employees’ vigilance during duty, their contribution in preventing untoward incidents, and ensuring safety in train operations over the past months. Each award consisted of a medal, a commendation certificate, a citation highlighting their exemplary safety work, and a cash prize of ₹2,000.

**Mumbai Division**
– **C L Kuril**, Motorman, Kalyan
While working on Asangaon local AN-19 on 15th September 2025, Kuril noticed that the entry signal no VVH-6 for the 5th line was mistakenly shut off. He did not pass the signal, informed all relevant personnel, and proceeded only after receiving the correct signal. His keen observation prevented the train from moving onto the wrong track.
– **Ravi Ranjan Kumar**, Pointsman, Kalyan
On 15th August 2025, Kumar noticed a passenger slipping and falling while trying to board a moving train at Kalyan station. He immediately waved a red signal to stop the train, saving the passenger from potential harm.

– **Prem Prakash**, Loco Pilot (Goods), Miraj
On 10th September 2025, Prakash observed a truck on the UP line between Masur and Shirwade stations. He promptly informed all concerned authorities. The train no 17412 Kolhapur-CSMT Mahalaxmi Express was allowed to proceed with a caution order. His prompt action prevented a potential accident.

On 9th September 2025, Patil noticed a passenger slipping and falling while de-boarding a moving train against the direction of travel at Miraj station. He rushed to assist, pulling the passenger to safety.

– **Pratap Hiroo**, Pointsman, Wadi
During shunting duty on 11th September 2025, Hiroo detected a rail fracture on the nearby RD4 line. He immediately alerted relevant personnel, helping to prevent a mishap.
– **Bhanwar Singh Yadav**, Track Maintainer, Parewadi
On 28th July 2025, Yadav spotted a broken SEJ Tung rail near Bhopalpet bridge. Having noticed this after Train no 22160 Chennai-CSMT Superfast had departed Parewadi station, he quickly protected the track and informed the authorities, averting a potential accident.

– **Rama Chauhan**, Technician (C&W), Amla
On 27th July 2025, during rolling-in examination of a goods train, Chauhan heard an unusual sound from a wagon. Upon closer inspection, she discovered a broken bearing cup in the axle box. Her vigilance helped prevent a serious mishap.
– **Pawan Bachle**, Assistant (C&W), Amla
While on night duty on 16th August 2025, Bachle noticed highly inflammable material leaking from four wagons due to an open filling dome cover. His careful observation and prompt reporting helped avert a dangerous situation.

– **Santosh Chaudhry**, Sr. Section Engineer, Bodwad
On 24th August 2025, at Varangaon yard, Chaudhry heard an unusual noise from a passing goods train. A detailed inspection revealed metal deposits in eight tyres. His alertness helped prevent a potential accident.
– **Rohit Borikar**, Track Maintainer, Bhusaval
On 14th September 2025, while on duty as a stationary watchman, Borikar noticed brake binding in a coach of Train no 22137 Nagpur-Ahmedabad Prerna Express on the Bhadli-Jalgaon section. He immediately informed all concerned and helped prevent a mishap.
– **Shrinivas Singh**, Technician (C&W), Bhusaval Yard
On 17th August 2025, during examination of a goods train, Singh detected a broken bogie bolster of a wagon. He promptly notified the relevant personnel, preventing a possible accident.
