BTS’ Parent Company HYBE Just Launched In India: What It Means
The post BTS’ Parent Company HYBE Just Launched In India: What It Means appeared com. POLAND 2025/03/11: In this photo illustration, the Hybe company logo is seen displayed on a smartphone screen. The music juggernaut opened its Mumbai headquarters in September 2025, establishing its fifth international office alongside existing operations in Japan, the United States, Latin America, and China. The expansion comes at a challenging time for the company. HYBE Chairman Bang Si-hyuk is currently under investigation by South Korea’s Financial Supervisory Service over allegations related to the company’s 2020 IPO, and was questioned by police for 13 hours in September 2025 regarding allegations of earning approximately $140 million in illicit profits. Additionally, a Seoul court ruled in favor of HYBE’s ADOR subsidiary in late October, rejecting girl group NewJeans’ attempt to suspend their exclusive contract. Despite these domestic challenges, the expansion into India comes as multiple global music companies increase their investments in the country. Per the Korea Foundation for International Cultural Exchange, K-pop streaming in India grew by 362 percent between 2018 and 2023. HYBE’s India Strategy Bang Si-hyuk predicted that “the strategy of securing a foothold in the world’s major music markets and applying this methodology is producing results, and if the current trend continues, the landscape of the global music market dominated by the Big 3 global companies will change significantly,” according to Maeil Business Newspaper. It’s a bold prediction, but HYBE’s track record suggests they know how to execute. Ripple CTO Explains Why XRP Ledger Doesn’t Need Miners or Smart Contracts
The post Ripple CTO Explains Why XRP Ledger Doesn’t Need Miners or Smart Contracts appeared com. David Schwartz, Ripple’s Chief Technical Officer, was once again dragged into the public arena to clarify what XRP Ledger actually does and more importantly, what it does not do. The discussion began after a $120 million exploit hit major DeFi protocol Balancer, bringing back to life the criticism that most decentralized platforms rely on complex smart contracts and “middlemen” to keep the system alive. One XRP community member called it Ethereum’s “design flaw,” arguing that XRPL’s 10-year-old architecture was built precisely to avoid it. Who owns XRP Ledger? Schwartz did not just agree. In a detailed thread, the Ripple CTO explained that validators on XRPL “don’t earn from transactions” and exist only to help nodes agree on one global order of transactions to solve the double-spend problem. Contrasting with Bitcoin and Ethereum, where miners or stakers are paid to include transactions in blocks, XRPL validators provide services to the nodes, not account holders, he explains. Thus, as it stands, every XRP Ledger node already knows which transactions are valid, while validators only decide when each should appear on the ledger. You Might Also RPL runs not on trust or reward loops, but on ordered logic a design Ripple believes still separates it from every smart-contract-driven chain trying to fix yesterday’s problems. Suilend pauses deposits and withdrawals specifically in its Elixir Isolated Market in response to a major loss reported by Stream Finance
The post Suilend pauses deposits and withdrawals specifically in its Elixir Isolated Market in response to a major loss reported by Stream Finance appeared com. DeFi lending protocol Suilend has taken precautionary measures in response to a major loss reported by Stream Finance, which is having ripple effects in the Sui ecosystem. One of the worst hit was Elixir, a protocol that appears to have borrowed against assets linked to Stream Finance’s xUSD, a dollar-pegged stablecoin-like asset. Suilend takes action against Elixir A few hours after Stream Finance announced that it had taken a huge loss, Suilend posted an update on X, assuring users that the team was keeping a close eye on the developing issue affecting Elixir’s deUSD. The post also stated that deposits and withdrawals in the Elixir Isolated Market have been paused, and communications have been attempted as Suilend demands loan repayment. In the meantime, the team says that “all other Suilend markets are unaffected and remain safe.” The post directly quoted the post from Stream Finance that contained information about the huge loss it had taken. According to the post, the loss occurred through an external fund manager overseeing Stream funds, and the total amount lost was approximately $93 million in Stream fund assets, as Cryptopolitan reported earlier today. Stream Finance’s community suspects that the fund manager may have used customer deposits for risky investments, as the protocol has not shared any evidence of a hack or external malicious attacks. This suggests that the problem may have been internal, and Stream has responded by engaging the services of Keith Miller and Joseph Cutler of the law firm Perkins Coie LLP to look into the incident thoroughly and initiate a withdrawal of all liquid assets, a process that is expected to be completed in the near term. “To keep our stakeholders informed, we will provide periodic updates as additional information becomes available,” the post read. “Until we are able to fully assess.
