Aryan Khan to work on his first theatrical release before directing Shah Rukh Khan in planned 2027 film: Report
Aryan Khan, who recently earned appreciation for his debut Netflix directorial The Ba***ds of Bollywood, is already moving ahead with his next set of projects. The series, which featured Lakshya, Raghav Juyal, Bobby Deol and an ensemble cast, marked Aryan’s official entry as a director and showcased his inclination towards bold storytelling. With the streaming debut now behind him, the filmmaker is preparing for a larger leap a theatrical feature. According to industry sources, Aryan’s next directorial will be a full-fledged film intended for a big-screen release. The young filmmaker is reportedly determined to establish himself in the theatrical space before stepping into what will arguably be the most anticipated collaboration of his career directing his father, superstar Shah Rukh Khan. A source quoted by Pinkvilla revealed that Aryan is taking a measured, merit-driven approach to his career choices. “Aryan wants to deliver a theatrical success and prove himself as a filmmaker before taking on the challenge of directing his superstar father, Shah Rukh Khan,” the insider shared. The intention, the source added, is to build credibility in the industry by letting the work speak for itself rather than relying on legacy or expectations. Plans for the father-son collaboration are very much in motion, though the film is not expected to take off immediately. “If all goes as planned, Aryan’s third directorial will feature SRK in the lead. The father-son duo has already locked the core idea, but the collaboration is expected to take shape only in 2027,” the source added. For now, Aryan is dedicating his attention to completing the script for his second feature film. The project is likely to enter the casting stage soon, with more details about the genre, ensemble, and production timeline expected to emerge in the coming months. With his debut project sparking conversations and his next two films already generating industry buzz, Aryan Khan appears to be pacing his journey with focus and strategic clarity. As anticipation builds for his theatrical debut and eventually, his directorial collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan all eyes are on the young filmmaker’s next move. EXCLUSIVE: Vicky Kaushal-starrer Mahavatar to go on floors in mid-2026; Amar Kaushik shares EXCITING details: “The prep is going on for 6-7 months. Mujhe toh soch ke hi darr lag raha hai”
Before the audience sat down to watch the grand Diwali release, Thamma, they were treated to a 60-second-long announcement promo for Shakti Shalini. The teaser confirmed that Aneet Padda would play the lead and also that it would be out on December 24, 2026. This was the date that was earlier booked for Mahavatar, starring Vicky Kaushal, directed by Amar Kaushik and produced by Maddock Films. Maddock is also the producer of Thamma with Amar serving as one of its producers and mentors. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Amar opened up on Mahavatar and why it is his most ambitious film to date. When asked if Mahavatar has been postponed, Amar Kaushik replied, “Yes. The prep is going on for 6-7 months. Mujhe toh soch ke hi darr lag raha hai. We have worked on the set design, weapon design, how every character would look, etc. The scripting is done. Yet, we need more time. Vicky will finish his other commitments and after that, he’ll also start his preparation. Hence, we hope to go on floors by mid-next year.”Amar Kaushaik continued, “For me, it is a huge passion project. When I was in school in Arunachal Pradesh, there used to be a Parshuram Kund close by. I used to ask my mother who Parshuram was but I was told not to talk much about it. I was only told that he was quite hot-tempered. Hence, I was quite fascinated by the character. When I read about it later in life, I was wowed and kept wondering, ‘Will I ever be able to make a film on this subject?’. Now, I have reached a stage where I have an understanding and experience of using VFX. That gave me the confidence to pull it off.”The timing is apt as Amar has just delivered Stree 2 (2024), the highest Bollywood grosser of all time. Did that also give confidence to Dinesh Vijan to entrust such a big responsibility to Amar Kaushik? Amar answered, “Yes, that always happens. If you haven’t proved yourself, why would anyone entrust you with such responsibility? Agar aapke bade sapne hai, toh chhote sapne toh poore karo pehle (smiles). In fact, I wouldn’t have taken up the film earlier in my career. Mujhe toh abhi bhi darr lag raha hai!”Also Read: BREAKING! Naomika Saran, Rajesh Khanna’s granddaughter, to debut in romantic comedy opposite Vedang Raina: Report
The next chapter of the Khanna–Kapadia film legacy is about to begin. Naomika Saran, granddaughter of iconic actors Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia, is all set to make her Bollywood debut with a Dinesh Vijan–produced romantic comedy under the banner of Maddock Films. The film, expected to go on floors by mid-2026, will pair Naomiak Saran opposite Vedang Raina, who was last seen in the Alia Bhatt–produced Jigra (2024). According to a report by Mid-Day, the young debutante has been preparing intensively for her first film over the past year, with workshops in acting and dance designed to polish her craft before stepping into the spotlight.Naomiak Saran is the daughter of Rinke Khanna, who made her own acting debut in Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi (1998), and the niece of Twinkle Khanna and Akshay Kumar. Though she belongs to one of Bollywood’s most celebrated families, Naomika has largely stayed away from the media glare until recently, when her frequent visits to Maddock Films’ office set off speculation about her debut.Interestingly, the project initially had Agastya Nanda, the grandson of Amitabh Bachchan, attached as the male lead. However, after discussions and scheduling conflicts, the role was recast with Vedang Raina. A source told Mid-Day, “Vedang and Naomika have great chemistry. When the team saw them together, it just clicked. Vedang is currently shooting for an Imtiaz Ali film and will move on to this project next”.The romantic comedy will reportedly be directed by a fresh face from the Maddock Films stable, aligning with producer Dinesh Vijan’s ongoing strategy of blending young talent with new-age storytelling.Unlike the typical fanfare accompanying star-kid debuts, Naomika’s team has chosen a deliberate and low-key approach. “Dinesh and his team were clear they didn’t want to announce her debut until she was completely ready,” the source added. Also Read: Rajesh Khanna’s granddaughter Naomika Saran set for Bollywood debut opposite Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda

The lyrical video is now live on Saregama Music’s YouTube channel, and the audio is streaming across all major platforms. Composed by Shashwat Sachdev and Charanjit Ahuja, the track is a bold fusion of modern hip-hop, Punjabi flavour, and cinematic grit. With vocals by Hanumankind, Jasmine Sandlas, Sudhir Yaduvanshi, Shashwat Sachdev, Muhammad Sadiq, and Ranjit Kaur, the song mirrors the scale, energy, and intensity of Dhurandhar. Lyrics are penned by Hanumankind, Jasmine Sandlas, and Babu Singh Maan. Marking Hanumankind’s first-ever Bollywood film project, the rapper brings his trademark power and precision to the track merging new-school rap with old-school desi swagger that perfectly complements Ranveer Singh’s fierce screen presence. Music director and producer Shashwat Sachdev shares, “‘Na De Dil Pardesi Nu’ is a folk classic that carries deep emotion, which made reimagining it for Dhurandhar both an honour and a responsibility. The song was written into the film’s soul it was in the script from the very beginning, and I built its sound from that spark. Ojas Gautam (Dhurandhar film DA) and I shaped the sonic energy around it until it became the heartbeat of the film’s world. Later, one night in the studio, Aditya Dhar, Hanumankind and I captured an impromptu rap that brought raw, instinctive fire to the track the kind of moment you live for as a composer. This version bridges generations resonating with those who grew up with the original, while connecting with a younger audience through its contemporary pulse.”CLUSIVE: Here’s what to expect from the Diwali asset of Ranveer Singh-Dhurandhar; likely to be played in cinemas with Thamma.
