Can you turn off autosave in Pokémon Legends Z-A?
Autosave in Pokémon games isn’t a new feature, but the implementation in Pokémon Legends: Arceus (Z-A) can be quite frustrating for some players.
**Can You Turn Off Autosaves in Pokémon Legends: Arceus?**
As of now, there is no known way to disable the autosave feature in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. The autosave comes enabled by default, similar to previous Pokémon titles. However, unlike some earlier games where players had the option to turn autosave on or off, Pokémon Legends: Arceus does not provide this choice. The game will automatically save your progress at regular intervals without the ability to pause or stop this function.
It’s unclear why Game Freak decided to enforce autosaving this way in Legends: Arceus. While the autosave mechanic itself is useful, many players, including myself, appreciated having the option to disable it in previous Pokémon games. This flexibility was generally welcomed within the community.
**How to Use Manual Save in Pokémon Legends: Arceus**
Although autosave cannot be turned off, you can still manually save your game to ensure your progress is secure. Manual saves offer more control since you can create a save file at almost any moment—except during battles.
To manually save your game, follow these steps:
1. Press the **X** button on your Nintendo Switch (or Switch OLED/Pro Controller) to bring up the menu.
2. Press the **R** button to save your progress manually.
Once your manual save is complete, you can safely quit the game or close the menu to continue playing.
This manual save option allows you to create restore points whenever you want, giving you more peace of mind as you explore the Hisui region.
